  • Tuesdays, Jan. 13 - May 12 - St. Paul

    Each Tuesday throughout the legislative session, MN-CCD and The Arc GTC will be at the capitol to help people share their stories about the importance of disability services with legislators.  Meet at the MNDot Transportation Building cafeteria, 395 John Ireland Blvd. at 10 am.
  • Tuesday, March 3- Stillwater

    The Stillwater Area Parent Association for Special Education (PASE) is hosting a discussion on IEP team problem solving, dispute resolution strategies, transition, and question and answer session. The guest speaker is Dan Stewart, Minnesota Disability Law Center.
  • Tuesday, March 10 - Richfield

    Planning is key to a secure and happy future for your family member with a disability. Roger Grumdahl, Thrivent Financial, will give an overview on future planning.  Hear how to create and implement a financial plan, preserve benefits and balance present and future needs at this Introduction to Future Planning.  RSVP by March 6.

    For many adopted children, school can be especially difficult.  The Arc is a part of a panel of adoption professionals and parents presenting on "How to Advocate for Your Adopted Child in School" in a presentation hosted by MNAdopt.

    Do you have questions about guardianship and conservatorship?  Don't miss this free Guardianship Workshop. Hear from an attorney who will discuss legal processes and procedures.  Register by April 17.

    The Suburban Ramsey County CTIC  invites parent sand special education professionals in the area to a Transition Presentation and dinner, featuring guest speaker Rick Cunningham, Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Ramsey County Services.  RSVP by April 10.
  • Saturday, April 25 - Brooklyn Center

     Get Organized for Spring!  Professional organizers from NAPO Minnesota will share tips and techniques at this free m0rning workshop at Arc's Value Village Brooklyn Center. Learn  what to donate and how to get rid of difficult, large or hazardous items; about reducing use of plastic bags, reducing unwanted mail and more;  seasonal swap-outs in closets and mudrooms, focus on putting spring and summer items in more accessible spaces, storing winter items in less prominent places;  organizing sporting and recreational goods and  spring cleaning in the garage.
  • Saturday, April 25 - Prior Lake

    Creative Housing - Bringing the Pieces Together
    forum offers opportunities for people to explore innovative housing options for people with disabilities. Keynote speakers include Roy Adams, Community Corrections and Sue Yang, a self-advocate who has Turner syndrome.  It's not just group homes any more - there are housig options for everyone!  Register.
