The Impact of Your Support
The path to create a good life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is made possible through the generosity of individual donors, corporations and foundations. Gifts to The Arc Greater Twin Cities help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, actively supporting them and their families in a lifetime of full inclusion and participation in their communities.
Every $250 helps a family get the personal assistance and advocacy they need to help their children with disabilities receive proper education, health care, housing, employment, and a plan for their future.
Every $500 helps 10 adults with disabilities connect with influential community leaders and legislators to advocate for the rights and needs of people with disabilities in the community.
Every $1,000 connects 25 parents, siblings and people with disabilities to share experiences and challenges, and learn about the community resources available to them.

Your Gifts Impact Lives
In 2014, more people called The Arc Greater Twin Cities about health care than any other issue. The Arc has certified MNsure navigators who can help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families understand their health care options and obtain coverage. For Yolanda Lewis, The Arc’s assistance has been “nothing short of a blessing.” Having a master’s degree and near finishing a doctorate program, Yolanda was still nearly defeated by the MA Application.
“It’s the best thing that ever happened to us,” she said. “ The Arc walked us through the whole process. She helped with the application and followed up with the county to make sure they had the documents. Once everything was in motion, we were approved in a matter of weeks. Jen was beyond helpful – she was amazing!” – Yolanda Lewis
“When our 8-year-old son Gabe walks into a room, he immediately lights up the place with his big smile and even bigger personality. When Gabe was born, though, we were unsure what to expect for him growing up.
Because The Arc has laid the groundwork over the years, there are so many school and community supports for Gabe. People stepped forward years ago for the rights of people with disabilities, and continue to do so today.
Tara and I support The Arc because we feel the impact it has had on our family and community. We are grateful for all of the opportunities Gabe has in his life because of the work of The Arc.” – Peter King
